Samsung has bolstered its budget smartphone lineup in India with two new handsets, the Galaxy Star 2 Plus (SM-G350E) and the Galaxy Ace NXT (SM-G313H), both of which are now listed on the company’s official website in the country. We had previously about the Galaxy Ace NXT’s imminent launch in India – the handset features a 4-inch WVGA display, a 3-megapixel rear camera, 1.2GHz single-core processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 4 GB of internal storage. It also has a microSD slot, a 1,500 mAh battery and dual SIM slots; it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, underneath Samsung’s TouchWiz Essence UX.


The Galaxy Star 2 Plus is also not a phone that we haven’t run across before, with the device spotted two months ago on its way to India for testing. The Galaxy Star 2 Plus is quite similar to the Galaxy Ace NXT in specs, with the only differences being the 4.3-inch WVGA display and 1,800 mAh battery. Neither handset has a front-facing camera, though both sport standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi, HSPA+, Bluetooth 4.0, and USB 2.0

LG launches G Watch smartwatch running on Android Wear

Along with the LG G3 India launch, LG also also unveiled its G Watch smartwatch.
The watch has a 1.65-inch display and features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 400 processor and has an internal memory of 4 GB with a 512MB RAM. The dust and water resistant watch sports the Android Wear OS and has a 400 mAh battery.
There is a discount of Rs 5,000 on the LG G Watch when bought along with the G3.

The LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live are the first Android wear smartwatches to go on sale.
LG G Watch is compatible with a wide range of Android smartphones and will present relevant information to users just when they need it or whenever they say "OK Google" to ask questions or to get their work done.
This is LG's fourth device in close collaboration with Google following the Nexus 4, Nexus 5, and the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition.
LG G Watch has an always-on display. It shows an on-time notification, and raising the watch turns it from black and white to full colour. Users can swipe up and down to navigate between notifications, and swipe horizontally to get to details and actions. Users can select the watch face too. They can simply press and hold to choose which watch time face they want. Also, when a user dismisses a notification on the watch, is also disappears from the phone.
Setting a "do-not-disturb" mode is a swipe away. Just swipe down on the watch to set the DND mode. The watch has a daily step counter and a step-count history for the week.

The Obi Octopus S520 which is supposed to be Obi Mobiles’ flagship smartphone, is priced at just Rs 11990 in India. Less than Rs 12000 in spite of the fact that the S520 is to the John Sculley-backed company what the iPhone is to Apple. Obi Mobiles has partnered with online retailer Snapdeal, to sell the handset in the country.

The Apple ex-CEO has chosen to prod the inexpensive smartphone segment in the country with the Obi Octopus S520 just to check if there’s enough room for more. Some might say that the device features everything you need to call it an attractive option to those minding their budget, except for a catchy name.

The Octopus S520 smartphone has a 5-inch 720p IPS screen nailed to its front and runs on the Android v4.4.2 OS. It uses an octa core chip from MediaTek in order to keep the cost low and is assisted by 1GB of RAM. For photography, you’ll find an 8MP camera with flash on the rear and above the display, a 2MP webcam for video chatting or clicking selfies. It’s a pity the Li-ion battery powering this Obi Mobiles phone can deliver just a measly 4 hours of talk time.

Samsung launched its updated line of Galaxy Tab S tablets with Super AMOLED displays and, a day later, Sony launched its Xperia Z2 tablet in India. Sony’s tablet screen has a lower resolution than the iPad Air, but is incredibly powerful. Powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, it comes with 3GB of RAM.

It’s got a super svelte chassis, which is also water-resistant and dust-proof, something none of its competitors boasts. It has a unique active noise-cancellation technology and a microSD card slot supporting up to 64GB of memory. It’s also one of the lightest tablets in the market rivaling the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.

On the back, it has an 8-megapixel camera capable of shooting video. On the front, there’s a 2.1-megapixel camera. While it has no LTE support, the device comes with voice-calling feature. Last year, the Xperia Z tablet was considered to be the best large-screen Android tablet in the Indian market. This year, the competition is fiercer.
