The Karbonn Titanium S20 is the fourth and final launch from the company for the month of September and it is being offered as an ultra affordable smartphone priced at just Rs 4999. The OEM has joined hands with Amazon India where the handset is currently available exclusively in the country.

Additionally, the Karbonn Titanium S20 is being offered with a special festive season promotion from October 2 where Aircel will provide 500MB of free data each month, for a period of three months. For its price, the smartphone is a pretty attractive one. Sure, it may not look as good as the Motorola Moto E, but it does have the advantage where specs are concerned.

The Karbonn Titanium S20 handset features Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box which is pretty much expected and it employs a quad core 1.3GHz processor for doing the heavy lifting. Devices under Rs 5000 mostly have just 512MB or lower RAM provisions, but this one packs an entire gigabyte of system memory.

For storage, there’s 4GB of internal hoarding capacity and the usual microSD slot with support for up to 32GB memory cards. The display equipped here is generously sized at 4.5 inches and the IPS panel offers visuals at FWVGA 854 x 480 pixel resolution.

Karbonn Titanium S2 Plus price in India, Features, Review

   

Karbonn now joins the KitKat bandwagon; they launched the Karbonn Titanium S2 Plus quad core smartphone that runs Android KitKat out of the box.

The Titanium S2 Plus comes loaded with a 1.3GHz quad core processor. The chipset is not yet known but probably could be MediaTek same as seen on the Micromax Unite 2 handset. Android 4.4 runs the show over a 5 inch screen with 854 x 480 (FWVGA) resolution.

Unfortunately the handset comes with just 512MB RAM that could turn out to be a big disappointment as some handsets that are competing with the S2 plus come with 1GB RAM. There is 4GB storage and 32GB external card support.

This is a dual SIM handset with dual standby mode. Handset weight is 120 grams sand it’s about 11.6mm thick. To compensate the memory (RAM) loss Karbonn has added an 8MP auto focus camera on the rear with LED flash and a front camera of standard VGA resolution

Google on Monday launched in India the first smartphones under its Android One initiative, pricing them at around Rs 6,399 to capture the low-cost segment of the world's fastest growing smartphone market.

Google launched the phones in partnership with Indian mobile phone makers Micromax, Karbonn and Spice Mobiles.

The phone is powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek quad-core processor, Mali-400MP graphics and 1GB RAM. The phone has 4GB internal storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 32GB capacity. The phone will also come with 10GB Spice Cloud cloud storage space and 35GB Google Drive space.

Spice Android One Dream UNO runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat, the latest iteration of the OS and comes preloaded with Flipkart, Flipkart eBook and Facebook apps in addition to Reverie Smartpad for Indian language input support.

It sports a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and support for full-HD video capture, and a 2MP front-facing camera. The phone has a 1700mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity, the dual-sim Spice Android One phone supports Bluetooth 4.0, 3G, Wi-Fi and A-GPS.

The Other two partners, Micromax and Karbonn, have also been teasing their Android One phones on social networks. The Micromax phone will be sold exclusively on Amazon India, while Karbonn's phone will be a Snapdeal exclusive. The phones will be available for purchase starting September 15, 3:30pm IST.

This initiative is likely to an immensely advantageous move for the whole social media gamut as well. Google will be providing basic guideline references to its leading device making partners members. The feature is being made available in low cost smartphones, but they are loaded with top-end features. Basically, cheaper phones will come with loaded features.

5 things you need to know about Google’s Android One

1. Google services don’t work for all Android based phones, but with Android One, this won’t be an issue anymore. Google will provide the manufacturers with specifications, basic guideline references for hardware parts, up-to-date versions of Android which will result in faster upgrades.

2. Since Google is collaborating with many low-cost domestic phone makers, it will take quality control of the low end market, with the smart phone priced mostly below Rs 6,000. Although a lot of phones come under this bracket of low cost phones, but Android One will provide a superior functionality with better a user interface.
